'Dhanush' is the story of a youth, who looses his memory in an accident. Director N Srinivasa Rao failed to convince the audience.

Coming to story, two persons get admitted into a hospital after an accident. While Dhanush (Naveen) looses his memory, the other Surya (Surya) goes into coma. Dhanush was advised to go out so that one can identify him and tell him his particulars. In the process, he saves a person who was in trouble by bashing the goons. Rambabu (Shivaji Raja) who finds him, decides to use him as a pawn in the college affairs and takes Dhanush to his house. Later, college principal Lakshmidevi (Kavitha) gives him a place in her house. Finally, Dhanush could able to put a full-stop to the squabbles in the college. Meanwhile, he also falls in love with Jyothi (Kiran Gill), sister of Rambabu. The latter who did not like the affair, warns Jyothi against his movement with Dhanush, as they don't know who his real identity. Dhanush decides to keep himself off Jyothi and tries to go away from that place. But Lakshmidevi and others prevent him from going out of the house.

Later, the other person Surya, who went into coma in the hospital regains consciousness. He is nothing but a CBI officer, who was chasing Deva, a mafia don. Surya again launches a manhunt for Deva alias Dhanush. Finally he catches him and reveals his identity that he was a mafia don and arrests him. Though the police try their best to bring out the facts from him through interrogation, they could not do so, as he completely loses his memory. But the police prove that he was a mafia don and send him to jail.
The climax is completely vague, lack of good screenplay caused the loss of grip on the story. Heroine's character is wasted. The director failed to establish hero as a mafia don. Naveen's performance is okay. Music by Dhina is not impressive. Songs choreography is not good. The movie is rated below average.
